Bear

We had excitement in our neighborhood this week. Early one morning, Sugar and Bailey saw two black bears stealing birdseed and suet from their feeders. Sugar took a picture of one standing on his hind legs to reach the suet feeder. Then, the next morning, my husband discovered that bears had bent the metal pole that holds up one of our bluebird houses all the way to the ground. The house was flat on its back. He opened it up and saw one smashed egg. He pulled the pole straight and we gave extra worms to the bluebirds. We think there might be another egg or baby in the house because the bluebirds are driving off all the other birds that come near it, including the much larger red cardinals.

Other neighbors said they saw three bears, but we don't know what is true because we haven't seen them yet. I hope I do.
