Rain

Boy is it raining hard today!Sugar put up a huge rain gauge that we can read from the kitchen window. I like the sound of the rain on her roof and the rain and is making all the leaves shake on the trees. I think I will finish reading "A Series of Unfortunate Events." It's soooo scary! If it stops raining Sugar said we can go on a treasure hunt. Oh, here come Sallie and Shadow. They are trouble!

My third book is out, by the way. "The Thief at Keswick Inn." We have a few copies, but it may take a while to get into bookstores. Looks really good.

stop and smell the lilacs

Bailey and Sugar came over this afternoon. They wanted to see our graden. The radishes and lettuce are already poking through the ground and the peas will be completely out in a day or two. Jim put the tomatoes in the ground, plus cuke seeds, and melon. He also planted lots of flower seeds. Bailey gave worms to the greedy bluebirds--they fly to the feeder as soon as we get a few feet away. And we also smelled the lilacs that opened up today. A yellow and black butterfly landed on the blooms and extracted nectar.

More good news

1. We planted radishes, peas, and lettuce yesterday. My husband bought four tomato plants, but we will wait a few weeks to put them in the ground. We had a little rain last night, but still need a lot more.

2. Lightfoot Elementary School has invited us to a special dinner on Monday night. The students will read what they have written. We are really looking forward to seeing these wonderful youngsters again and hearing their stories at an author night.

3. Eugene Schwartz, an editor-at-large with ForeWord magazine had nice things to say about ther adventure series http://www.forewordmagazine.com/ftw/ftwarchives.aspx?id=20060405.htm#2

We met him at the Virginia Festival of the book a few weeks ago.

4. A mention of my finalist status for Wild Women was in both the Sarasota Herald-Tribune this week, as well as the Lake Anna Observer.

Spring is coming!
